The protest must be in writing, be accompanied by $150 in cash, and be turned in no longer than 5 minutes from the drop of the checkered flag of the division in which the car in question is running. The written protest and the cash are to be given to the tech man and no one else. The top 4 winning cars and drivers, plus the car and driver doing the protesting, will go immediately to the claim area. If you need to cool your car down at the cool area, please notify an official so they can accompany you. When at the claim area, immediately shut off the car. Cars that do not follow these rules will be disqualified. The car and driver doing the protesting will pull up beside the car in question. Protest must be made on specific items such as pistons, camshaft, carburetor, etc. During the tear down process, if any violations are found besides the one in question, the car and driver will be disqualified and the $100 will be returned to the protester and $50 will go to Dirtona Raceway. If the protestee is found to be legal, he/she will receive the $100  from the protester and the other $50 will go to Dirtona Raceway. The promoter has the right to check any and all cars at any time. If the car being protested is found to be illegal, the driver will lose all points, trophy, prizes and money for that night of racing and will not be allowed to run the next scheduled points race at Dirtona Raceway.

Only the driver of the top 4 cars and one pit helper, plus necessary officials, will be allowed in the claim area. The tech man has the final decision. There will be no meetings with drivers to decide after the fact.

Refusing to tear down is the same as being illegal. Also, not going to the claim area after tour feature race is the same as being illegal. If you are found to be illegal, you will lose all points, trophies, prizes and money for that night of racing.

If more than one protest is filed on any one car, the protest filed first will be accepted. Only one protest per car per night is allowed.

All protest or complaints will be taken from drivers only. Arguing with officials will result in immediate action from the track. Driver, you are responsible for the people with you. Keep them under control, or you will suffer the consequences.

There are no gray areas. The tech man has the right to dig down deeper on a protest or on any inspection if he is not completely satisfied. He may do so until he is satisfied. You are illegal until you can prove to the track that you are legal.
